DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (February, 25th) sold 16 registered Cheviot females and Blackface females at its show and sale kindly sponsored by Harbro.
The main register Cheviot judge Mr J. Polson, Smerlie, Lybster, awarded his champion to the first prize in lamb gimmer, a Bardnaclavan Atlanta daughter, carrying a pair to Bardnaclavan Rooney, from Messrs J. & J. Farquhar, Smiddyquoy, by Watten, realising £550 to the judge, with the reserve award going to the second prize in lamb gimmer, also a Bardnaclavan Atlanta daughter from Smiddyquoy, realising £800 also to the judge.
The hill register Cheviot judge Mr H. Mackenzie, Badanloch, Kinbrace, awarded his champion to the first prize in lamb gimmer, a Baligill Butch daughter, carrying a pair sired by Flodigarry Old Man of Storr from Mr F. Renwick, Inverbroom, Ross Shire. The reserve award went to the second prize in lamb gimmer, from Mr W. M. Sutherland, Brackside, Reay. She was a White Hope Luckyspot daughter, in lamb to Achentoul Playboy with a pair realising £220 to Mr J. M Macdonald, 23 Knock, Isle of Lewis.
Mr W. Smith, 37 Vatisker, Isle of Lewis, judged the Blackface section and awarded his champion to the first prize in lamb gimmer from Connachan, Crieff, a Black Caviar daughter carryng a pair sired by a son of a 5800 Connachan, realising £500 to Mr B. Ross, Mid Gruinards, Ardgay. The reserve champion went to the first prize ewe lamb from Glenbow, Humberston, Dingwall, by a 1400 Auldhouseburn sire out of an Elmscleugh sired ewe, she realised £270 to Miss J. Fraser, Greenlands, Arabella.

Hill register Cheviots - two gimmers, £220; five ewes, £360.
Blackface – two gimmers, £450; five lambs, £132.40.
