HIAL invites Prospect to hold talks over strike ballot

30th March 2015

Regional airport operator HIAL has urged the trade union Prospect to resume discussions in a bid to resolve their current pay claims.

The company wrote to Prospect last week inviting the union to hold further talks, but received no reply. HIAL is again contacting the union with an offer to negotiate.

Inglis Lyon, Managing Director of HIAL said: "Despite our earlier efforts to engage Prospect, and to identify areas where a compromise could be reached, the union has yet to respond. We are therefore contacting the union to once again invite them to talks. We have shown a willingness to engage with the union and we are prepared to consider more realistic claims from them. However, we cannot accede to demands for a near 30% pay increase."
