Caithness HVDC Switching Station Consultation Events

Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission plc, part of the SSE Group, owns and maintains the electricity transmission network in the north of Scotland.

We are hosting open consultation events to invite feedback on our preferred site and proposed building designs for a High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Switching Station north of Wick. This would allow the connection of a proposed
subsea cable from Shetland. The events will be held at:

• Wick Assembly Rooms - Monday 21 March 3.00pm - 8.30pm

• Staxigoe Hall - Wednesday 23 March 3.00pm - 8.30pm

Site selection process will be displayed at the events along with a number of proposed building designs. Members of the project team will be available to answer questions, discuss issues and receive comments.

How do I comment on the proposals?
