Jamie Stone Contests North Seat For Lib Dems Once Again
20th March 2016
Jamie Stone is the Scottish Lib Dem candidate for the Caithness Sutherland and Ross seat as MSP in the Scottish Parliament election in May 2016.
Jamie Stone was previously an MSP from the first Scottish Parliament elections in 1999 until standing down in 2011. One factor in his previous retirement was internal party wrangling over whether he should be re-selected. As he put it afterwards, "It's all in the past" and whilst those who opposed him are no longer members of the party, he himself continued to campaign intensively for the Liberal Democrats.
The Scottish Lib Dems finished second in the seat in 2011, 7,458 votes behind the SNP.
Jamie Stone is currently a Highland councillor for Tain and Easter Ross.
