DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (October, 10th) sold 4,487 breeding ewes and lambs at their annual Blackface & Cross ewes, gimmers, ewe lambs sale.
Blackface ewes (2,781) sold to £92 gross for correct ewes from Lairgandour, Daviot.
Blackface gimmers (280) sold to £110 gross for a pen of twenty one from Lairgandour.
Blackface ewe lambs (469) sold to £95 gross for a pen of thirty also from Lairgandour.
Correct ewes (645) sold to £83 gross for Cheviot Mules from Fornighty Farm, Lethen.
Gimmers (165) sold to £80 for Suffolk crosses from Corrimony, Glen Urquhart.
Feeding ewes (147) averaged £18.23 and sold to £30.50 twice for Texel crosses from No. 27 Melbost, Stornoway and Mules from Kinnahaird Farm, Contin.
"Lairgandour dispersal sold at extreme rates, other dispersals also sold well. Other classes met a more hesitant demand."
