DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (October, 1st) sold 574 store cattle and 23 OTM cattle at their show and sale of weaned calves and yearlings, sponsored by Ian Roger Haulage, Keith.
The judge, Mr G. MacIver, Flowerburn Mains, Fortrose, awarded the champion to a 505kg Limousin bullock from the Firm of J. Munro & Son, Invercharron, Ardgay, realising £1000 to the judge. The reserve champion, from Mr J. A. Junor, Dell Farm, Farr, was a 370kg Charolais cross bullock realising £770, to Messrs A. B. Millar & Son, Moss-side Farm, Fraserburgh.

Bullocks (344) averaged 168.7p and sold to 212.4p per kg for a 339kg Limousin from Invercharron, and £1000 gross for the champion beast also from Invercharron.
Heifers (230) averaged 151.9p and sold to 178.6p per kg for a 392kg Limousin from Alvie Estate, Kincraig, and £800 gross for a 505kg Charolais cross from Wester Tomloan, Glenferness.
OTM beef cows (19) averaged 103.3p and sold to 123.9p per kg for a 690kg Limousin from Strone Farm, Banavie, and £895 gross for a 760kg Simmental cross from Fornighty Farm, Lethen.
OTM clean bullocks and heifers (4) averaged 122.5p and sold to 163.7p per kg and £1015 gross for a 620kg Charolais cross heifer from Mountrich Farm, Dingwall.
