Fusion, the organisation which encourages entrepreneurship in the Highlands and Islands, is hosting its annual conference "Light Your Fire" 2008 at Aviemore Highland Resort on 20th and 21st November 2008 and welcomes Scotland's "curry king", Dr Charan Gill MBE, as keynote speaker.

The two day networking event aims to inspire, encourage and support Highlands and Islands businesses into generating new innovative business ideas. Businesses which attend will have the opportunity to listen to a variety of successful entrepreneurs who have achieved great success and are committed to sharing their hard earned knowledge to help drive their business forward.

One of the most entertaining and inspiring business speakers around Scotland's "curry king", Dr Charan Gill MBE will share his tips and advice on achieving success in business. Charan is not only one of Scotland's foremost entrepreneurs, he is also a major philanthropist and a great advocate of entrepreneurship in Scotland. Charan was born in the Punjab but came to Glasgow in 1963. He started work as a turner and fitter at Yarrow's Shipyard on the Clyde, but all that changed when he started helping out a friend who was running an Indian restaurant. A story that started with him cleaning toilets and peeling onions, ended up with him selling his own business empire of 17 restaurants, in 2005 for a cool £16million.

Fusion will share advice about the secrets of growing a business in an economic downturn at this conference, presenting case studies and discussing the real challenges facing Highland business leaders right now. The conference is delivered as a range of talks and workshops, structured networking sessions and team challenges working together with other delegates, along with a conference dinner in the evening and overnight stay.
