About us:

Isobel and Angela are passionate about their home county of Caithness, set in the North Highlands of Scotland. Angela has years of experience in the Scottish tourism industry and Isobel currently runs a small bed and breakfast business in her home. Isobel worked away from Caithness for many years as a Human Resource Consultant and is a qualified life coach - they are both very much people orientated!

With their vast experience and knowledge of tourism and years of working with people, in March 2019, they took the plunge and launched Above and Beyond Tours as they realised that Caithness is a unique year-round destination and ideal for exploring and offering an escape from daily stresses in today's fast-paced culture.

The beginning...

Above and Beyond Tours offer tourism at a slower pace, using their local knowledge of the area, taking you off the beaten track to explore the hidden gems Caithness has to offer and to take in the pristine beaches, big skies, rugged coastlines, Flow Country and views as far as the eye can see.

Their offer of tailor-made tours offer a unique experience allowing time just for you. There are currently 3 key tours on offer : A Road Less Travelled, On the Edge, and Cairns to Coast. All tours are flexible and can be adapted to create a bespoke and personalised experience as requested by visitors and locals.

Where we are/where we are going....

The business has come on leaps and bounds since launching and looking forward Above and Beyond aims to offer days out in Caithness, and Isobel and Angela are hard at work developing "Experience" packages. These will give locals the opportunity to rediscover childhood experiences or find out new things about their home county, and will give visitors a unique insight into the many talents within the county including artists, jewellers, crafting, baking and chocolate making...and of course to our whisky and gin distilleries. We are also expanding to include ancestry tours, following the many requests we have had to visit Clan Gunn and Clan Mackay museums.

As we look forward to 2020, Above and Beyond is all set to live up to their name and offer unique, amazing experiences to locals and visitors alike.
