Cairn Of Dunn is a family run permaculture croft near Watten in Caithness, not far from John O Groats. We are midway between Thurso and Wick.

The croft has panoramic views in all directions, and the pods all have stunning views over Loch Watten, the largest loch in Caithness. In winter, our dark skies make it one of the finest stargazing places in the country.

We are not a glamping site. No hot tub, no Wifi, not even electricity. What we offer is the opportunity to completely unplug in peace and tranquility, in one of the most environmentally regenerative holiday destinations in the country. Many sites claim to be sustainable, or green.

Our pods are camping pods. Think of them as an alternative to a tent. Each pod has two beds with comfortable mattresses. You will need to bring your own bedding, cooking gear and camping stove. There is room for a third air bed on the floor for a child should you wish. The pods are double glazed and insulated, but are not heated.
