Bullocks (66) averaged 218.9p and sold to 241.5p per kg for 352kg Limousin crosses from Wester Lochend, Loch Flemington, and £1,220 gross for a 550kg Limousin cross from Culnara, Bonar Bridge.

UK Trade shows the extent of import and export activity and is a key contributor to the overall economic growth of the UK. Seasonally adjusted, the UK's deficit on trade in goods and services was estimated to have been £3.3 billion in July 2014, compared with £2.5 billion in June 2014.

Production output is estimated to have increased by 1.7% between July 2013 and July 2014. This reflects increases of 2.2% in manufacturing (the largest component of production); and 3.4% in electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning output.

Affordable Lending Campaign Launches as Research Reveals People Are Jumping Into Quick Credit Without Realising the True Cost. Latest research findings revealed today from My Home Finance, a national social lending organisation, show it has become morally acceptable for individuals to pay extortionate rates for short-term loans, with no questions asked by the loan provider to determine whether they can afford it.
Residents in the Highfield Avenue and Blarmore Avenue area of Inverness will begin to help tackle the problem of doorstep crime today (Monday 8 September). Muirtown Community Council have chosen the area to be a Cold Call Control Zone (CCCZ), an initiative facilitated by Highland Council Trading Standards and supported by Police Scotland that aims to educate and empower residents on how to deal with unwanted doorstep traders.

The success of an apprentice plumber from Dornoch who won the Student of the Year 2013/2014 title for SVQ 3 Domestic Plumbing 2nd Year from Inverness College has been recognised by Highland Councillors. At the start of the recent Community Services Committee, members learned of Andrew Fraser's success and took the opportunity to congratulate him and pay tribute to the support and training given by council staff.
The Highland Council's Energy and Sustainability team have won the best innovation prize at the annual Energy North Awards which were held in Inverness last week. The Council has embarked on a project entitled Carbon Saving Capital Works for Council Buildings and Properties, with a specific emphasis on biomass, and in doing so has become an innovative leader in the renewable energy and low carbon sector.

Schroders Azad Zangana, European Economist and Chris Ames, Fixed Income Fund Manager comment on the announcement on Thursday 4th September 2014.: The European Central Bank (ECB) has cut interest rates further in an attempt to boost domestic demand and reduce the risk of deflation in the euro area. The main policy interest rate has been lowered from 0.15% to 0.05%, while the deposit rate, previously lowered to -0.1%, has also been lowered to -0.2%.
