Multiply Challenge Fund Launched In Highland - Groups can apply for funding

The Highland Council has today (Monday 20 February 2023) launched the Highland Multiply Challenge Fund. Multiply is a new programme to help transform the lives of adults across the UK, by improving their functional numeracy and is part of the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund.
The Multiply Challenge Fund is open to public and third sector organisations who deliver services in the Highland Council area. The aim of the funding is to help adults aged 19-years plus who want to build confidence and skills in the use of numbers in their day-to-day lives.
Chair of the Economy and Infrastructure Committee Cllr Ken Gowans said: "This Fund aims to support our third and public sector organisations deliver courses for those who want to improve their confidence with numbers, better manage their money, or for parents who simply want to better help their children with their maths and numeracy schoolwork. We also are looking for applicants to come forward with ideas on how to help people improve their numeracy skills to enter, sustain or progress in employment."
Cllr Gowans added: "The Council have recently agreed to use the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund to support a range of initiatives that will help individuals, businesses and communities across Highland. The Multiply Challenge Fund is an important part of this, and I would encourage large and small public and third-sector organisations alike across the Highlands to get involved. We need to find innovative and different ways to help people improve their numeracy skills."
The Highland Multiply Challenge Fund is open to applications until 10am on Monday 13 March 2023.
