Wick Centre Main Streets - 3 Weeks of Road Resurfacing and Drainage works

Highland council have announced resurfacing & drainage works being carried out on A99 Cliff Road, Bridge Street, High Street, George Street & North Road in Wick from Thursday 4 Jul 24 for approx 3 weeks.
Road closure will be in place from Wed 10Jul - Sat 14 Jul between 10am & 3pm daily for the corner of Bridge Street & High Street to enable works.
A99 Bridge Street & High Street, #Wick, will be closed continuously, from the junction with U3664 Whitechapel Road to the junction with U3657 Victoria Place, from 10:00 on 10 July 2024 to 15:00 on 14 July 2024. The closure is for roadworks. Traffic will be allowed past on an ad-hoc basis.

Council Takes Delivery Of New Snow Ploughs To Treat Winter Roads Across The Highlands
The Highland Council has invested in 6 new winter gritting vehicles to replace some of the ageing fleet. Three vehicles have been delivered, with another 3 to be delivered shortly.

New contract for mixed paper and card recycling services for Highland
The Highland Council is pleased to announce a new contract has been awarded to Smurfit Westrock, a global leader in sustainable paper and packaging, for the Provision of Mixed Paper & Cardboard Treatment Services with Haulage (from the Highland Council area). The contract which covers a period of up to 6 years will see approximately 11,500 tonnes of mixed paper and card transported from Highland Council Waste Transfer Stations to Smurfit Westrock's Glasgow recycling facility annually.22/11/2024
