A new survey from Acas has revealed that job security, flexible working and competitive pay are the top reasons given by Scottish employees for choosing to remain in their current jobs. Food and drink businesses across Scotland will benefit from a share of more than £10 million to improve supply-chain efficiency, increase production and run feasibility studies. ScotRail is reminding customers that its services will return to normal tomorrow, Tuesday, 8 November, following the announcement that planned strike action by RMT trade union members of Network Rail has been suspended. On Friday, 4 November, the RMT announced that it had suspended planned strike action by its members of Network Rail to allow for pay negotiations to take place.
From time to time the problems with two new ferries being built to service the west coast islands appears in the news. Now Highlands and Islands Enterprise has stepped into the fray to give a grant of £15,000 to The Mull and Iona Ferry Committee (MIFC) to undertake a feasibility study looking at alternative ownership of ferries through a community company who want to take over.

The National Insurance rates between 6 April and 5 November 2022 include a 1.25% levy to directly support the NHS, bringing the rates to 13.25% and 3.25%. Following the Growth Plan statement at the end of September 2022, from 6 November 2022 the NIC rates drop down again.
