The Consumer Prices Index including owner occupiers' housing costs (CPIH) rose by 2.6% in the 12 months to September 2024, down from 3.1% in August.   On a monthly basis, CPIH rose by 0.1% in September 2024, down from 0.5% in September 2023.

DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (October 11th) sold 6,660 store sheep of all classes.   Lambs (4,802) averaged £77.85 and sold to £140 gross for a Texel cross from Wester Ardroy, Balachraggan.

BBC News Programmes See 185 Job Cuts
Hardtalk, Click and Asian Network are amongst the cuts at the BBC as the organisation tries to make savings of 4% on the news budget.   The closures are part of a broader BBC plan to cut 500 jobs across the corporation by March 2026 in order to create a total of £700m in annual savings relative to 2022.
