Wick Schools Consultations
Following a period of statutory consultation, The Highland Council is recommending the replacement of Wick's four primary schools with two new purpose built facilities. A report to be considered by the Education Culture and Sport Committee on Thursday 10 November will recommend the Council spends almost £20 million on two new community schools - one to the north of the River Wick and one to the south.17/10/2011

Northern Constabulary are advising retailers to be on their guard after a shop in Golspie which uses the "UKASH" pre-payment collection network (worked over a phone line) was the victim of a fraud. FORT WILLIAM, Dingwall and Highland Marts Ltd., (October, 15th) sold 402 weaned calves and store cattle, 40 OTM cattle and 38 adult head of breeding cattle. Bullocks (205) averaged 193.4p and sold to 267.9p per kg for a 209kg Charolais cross from Ardtornish Farms, Oban, and £690 gross for a 381kg Limousin cross from 8, 9 & 10 Cuilchenna, Fort William.14/10/2011

Local Timber Manufacturer Confirmed for Natural Retreats John O'Groats Site Following the start of work in September to rejuvenate John O'Groats as a premium tourist destination, work continues on the ambitious project to redevelop the historic hotel and adjacent land.
