Many people are getting invitations to conferences especially if they work in medicine, science, social services or engineering. But are they bogus or fake or irrelevant.
Caithness.org and the Caithness Business Index have recently been getting spammed by rogue groups trying to get free advertising for bogus conferences. As usual they want money any way they can get it. By now many of you may be wise to this type of targeting but it is easy to get caught by a slick web site or email invitation.
A huge number of sources are setting up fake invitations backed by web site or false information.
Be wary and think carefully before applying to conferences nowadays unless you are sure of the validity and source of the invite.
