Flybe Insurance: Almost 5,000% Increase From Frantic Passengers Searching For Cover

With British airline Flybe going into administration overnight, thousands of passengers have been left stranded, resulting in losses for many travellers due to cancelled flights.

In a bid to discover how worried passengers have become since the news broke, holiday taxi service Taxi2Airport has analysed Google search trends over the past seven days in the UK to determine how many Brits are concerned about Flybe's impact.

Mentions of ‘Flybe' on Google have increased from nine mentions on March 1st, to 2,854 mentions on March 5th - an increase of 31,611%

Following the news of their administration on March 4th, over 500,000 Google searches were made for Flybe on the same day

A BBC News article has accumulated a total engagement of 93,900 and almost 90,000 Facebook shares, just six hours after going live

It's evident that passengers have been left confused, as the questions ‘is Flybe ATOL protected' and ‘what happens if Flybe collapse' have both individually increased by 3,900%

Searches for ‘will I get my money back if Flybe goes bust?’ have risen by 4,950% within the past week

‘ATOL’ has increased by 4,800% worldwide, and ‘ATOL protected meaning’ by 200% in the UK

There are currently over 63,500 posts on Instagram with the hashtag Flybe, as a result of thousands choosing to break the news through social media
