Flexioffices recently conducted a study on remote working/ flexitime/ flexible working whatever you want to call it in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
67% of Scottish workers currently do not have the option to work remotely.
Only a third (33%) of workers located in Scotland are provided the option by their employer..
One in 10 workers in Scotland applied for their job because of flexitime.
One in 10 workers in Scotland would consider leaving their role if it were to be taken away.
Edinburgh is the number one UK city for providing flexible working
Glasgow is at the bottom of the list for flexible working.
The top benefits stated by Scottish workers who have flexible working are those that benefit their employer:
Nearly half (48%) stated they enjoy work more
Nearly a quarter (23%) said they are more productive
Nearly a third (31%) stated they were less stressed
Nearly a third (31%) said their company provides great perks
Other personal benefits employees expressed as a result of remote working:
Nearly a third (31%) get to spend more time with their family
Nearly a third (32%) feel valued
18% saves money
19% felt healthier
16% have a better social life
17% save more time
Cities that have the most flexible working are:
Edinburgh - 41%
Leeds - 35%
Liverpool - 34%
London – 33%
Cardiff – 32%
Birmingham, Sheffield and Manchester – 29%
Belfast – 28%
Newcastle and Glasgow – 23%
