Pupils in the Highlands & Islands Encouraged to think Green

15th December 2008

Pupils from across the Highlands and Islands are being encouraged to think green
in a Schools Sustainability Competition which is being organised by the Aberdeen
Business School at Robert Gordon University.

Teams from the Highlands and Islands to Tayside have been invited to devise a
policy to encourage behavioural change in some aspect of sustainable practice
such as recycling, energy efficiency, fair trade or transportation. The
finalists will showcase their ideas at Aberdeen Business School in March to an
audience of invited guests including local Councils, the business community,
environmental groups as well as parents and University staff. The winners will
be chosen by a panel of judges.

The University is still looking for schools to participate in the event which
will take place in March as part of the Economic and Social Research Council
(ESRC) Festival of Science week, which is held between 6th and 15th March 2009.
The winner team will receive a mountain bike each and the runners-up will
receive an MP3 player each.
