The Highland Council is advising the public that the Corran Ferry is not in operation due to a technical failure.

On Saturday evening one of the MV Corran propulsion units failed and work is underway to source the part needed and get it fitted as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, the back-up vessel, the MV Maid of Glencoul, is not back from her refit due to delays caused by Covid-19 so the service, operated by The Highland Council has had to be suspended.

Messages advising the public on the distribution to the service are on social media and all emergency services have been informed.

Operated by Highland Council, the Corran Ferry is one of few remaining mainland vehicle ferries in Scotland. The route crosses Loch Linnhe from Nether Lochaber to Ardgour, at the Corran Narrows, 9 miles (14 km) south of Fort William.
