The Casual Dining Group, the restaurant chain that owns Bella Italia, Cafe Rouge and Las Iguanas, has issued notice of intention to appoint administrators. This does not bind it, necessarily, to go into administration, but gives the company precious time (ten days) to agree partial company re-structuring or disposals, which might then lead to a CVA for the remainder of the business in preference to administration. Casual Dining also owns Belgo (a Belgian-inspired chain), Huxleys and Oriel, which may also be affected by the company's plans. The business is a big player in the industry with 248 restaurants and 6,000 employees.
