Cbi Scotland Happy For School Return But No Reprieve For Offices

30th July 2020

Tracy Black, CBI Scotland Director, said:"Getting children safely back to school is important for families and a critical aspect of Scotland's economic recovery. Not only will it help parents and carers get back to work, but it's also essential to ensuring we don’t impede the development and wellbeing of children.

"Pushing back the date for the re-opening of non-essential offices to ‘no earlier than September 11’ creates confusion for many businesses. What firms need is a clear, indicative date that allows them to start planning now for a safe re-opening that puts the health of staff and customers first."

Across the UK, the CBI speaks on behalf of 190,000 businesses of all sizes and sectors. The CBI’s corporate members together employ nearly 7 million people, about one third of private sector-employees. With offices in the UK as well as representation in Brussels, Washington, Beijing and Delhi, the CBI communicates the British business voice around the world.
