Many local businesses have made it through extremely testing times and now have a stronger, and more loyal, customer base than ever before. In the height of lockdown, many consumers began to see it as their duty to help support local businesses and see them thrive against all odds.

With this in mind, Where The Trade Buys have analysed Google search data to reveal how much of the British public actually looked how to shop local and help businesses in their area.

Some of the key findings are as follows:

Searches for "Supporting local businesses" is up 1581%

Searches for "Support small local businesses" is up 894%

Searches for "Local eggs for sale" is up 755%

Searches for "Great British products is up 500%

Searches for "farms selling vegetables near me" is up 485.71%
