Coronavirus Covid-19 Daily Data For Scotland - 31 January 2021

1,003 new cases of COVID-19 reported.

14,163 new tests for COVID-19 that reported results - 8.1% of these were positive.

6 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive.

143 people are in intensive care with recently confirmed COVID-19.

1,941 people are in hospital with recently confirmed COVID-19.

566,269 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 7,794 have received their second dose.

Since the start of the outbreak:

6,106 people have died who have tested positive as at 31 January.

7,902 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to 24 January.

38% of COVID-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 56% were in hospitals and 6% were at home or non-institutional settings (as at 24 January).

Vaccinations

As at 8:30am on Sunday, 31 January:

566,269 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 7,794 have received the second dose

Latest progress on first doses for the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) priority groups as at 8:30am on Friday 29 January:

28,792 care home residents (96% of residents in older adult care homes and 90% of residents in all care homes).

38,416 care home staff (85% of staff in older adult care homes and 74% of staff in all care homes).

170,024 people aged 80 or over living in the community (68%) - this excludes care home residents who are reported separately.

246,803 frontline health and social care workers exceeding the initial target of 230,000 staff provided by Health Boards.
