In his new role Dr Muzammil will be involved in the organising and managing of clinical services, supervising clinical and non-clinical staff, team managers of the practice, overseeing the team's on-going professional development as well as teaching medical students and GP registrars.

Dr Muzammil said: "The Highlands is one of the most beautiful parts of the world and I have wanted to work here for a while. When the clinical director position came up I felt it was the right time for me to relocate.

“I am settling in well and enjoying my new surroundings. The teams have been very welcoming and I am delighted to be starting with the organisation."

Dr Paul Davidson, Deputy Medical Director (Community) for NHS Highland, is delighted to welcome Dr Muzammil to NHS Highland.
