Community Benefit Portal Sessions

The Scottish Government are publishing a new ‘Community Benefit Portal' to be used by private sector contractors for identifying opportunities where they could provide community benefit as part of their contract with NHS Scotland or locally with NHS Highland. The portal allows communities to post up ideas around how a possible contractor could support their local activities, usually the request will focus on practical items such as equipment, trades, possibly training or professional advice. The portal will act as a sort of market place, allowing contractors to consider options on how they can both meet that expectation and bring positive impact. For our area this is an exciting opportunity as national contracts will be better able to understand opportunities for interacting with communities further from the central belt much more effectively.

This session will introduce the concepts and characteristics of the process, allow you to ask any questions and to identify ideas around how this could work for your organisation and community.

This might be especially beneficial for us in Caithness when you consider the amount of work being planned as part of the redesign of our Health services.
