Coronavirus (COVID-19): daily data for Scotland - 13 September 2021 -

The worrying statistics show the surge is ongoing with more deaths and infections daily.

NHS Highland has confirmed more cancellations of the usual treatment and operations at their hospitals while staff try to deal the the growing numbers in hospital.

Don't think this is any where near over even if some rules are being slackened. Don't mix with others if you can avoid it. Get Vaccinated but remember you can still catch covid and still spread to friends and family.

Todays stats -

4,241* new cases of COVID-19 reported.

40,749* new tests for COVID-19 that reported results
11.3*% of these were positive.

0 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive (noting that Register Offices are now generally closed at weekends).

90 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

1,048 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

4,142,783 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination and 3,785,214 have received their second dose.

in the week ending 5 September, 58 deaths were registered where COVID-19 was on the death certificate.

Since the start of the outbreak:

8,242 people have died who have tested positive as at 13 September.

10,612 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to 5 September.

32% of COVID-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 61% were in hospitals and 7% were at home or non-institutional settings (as at 5 September).
