40,540 new tests for COVID-19 that reported results
7.2% of these were positive.

34 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive.

65 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

983 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

4,194,212 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination and 3,840,251 have received their second dose.

on 1 October, 34 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive.

in the week ending 26 September, 165 deaths were registered where COVID-19 was on the death certificate.

Since the start of the outbreak:

8,648 people have died who have tested positive as at 1 October.

10,991 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to 26 September.

31% of COVID-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 62% were in hospitals and 7% were at home or non-institutional settings (as at 26 September).
