Coronavirus (COVID-19): daily data for Scotland - 3 October 2021

2,040 new cases of COVID-19 reported.

28,673 new tests for COVID-19 that reported results
7.7% of these were positive.

1 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive (noting that Register Offices are now generally closed at weekends) ,

71 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

965 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

4,208,546 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 3,845,180 have received their second dose.

on 1 October, 34 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive.

in the week ending 26 September, 165 deaths were registered where COVID-19 was on the death certificate.

Since the start of the outbreak:

8,648 people have died who have tested positive as at 1 October.

10,991 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to 26 September.

31% of COVID-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 62% were in hospitals and 7% were at home or non-institutional settings (as at 26 September)

983 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19; of these, 65 were in intensive care.

in addition, yesterday 16 confirmed COVID-19 patients were in intensive care longer than 28 days.

in the week ending 27 September, 673 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to hospital.

in the week ending 30 September, 44 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to intensive care.

21,383 inpatients who tested positive for COVID-19 have been discharged from hospital since 5 March 2020.

as at 29 September, 1,590 people were delayed in hospital.
