3,055 new cases of COVID-19 reported.

46,892 new tests for COVID-19 that reported results
6.9% of these were positive

34 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive.

68 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

988 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

4,229,178 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination and 3,852,067 have received their second dose.

on 6 October, 34 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive.

in the week ending 3 October, 141 deaths were registered where COVID-19 was on the death certificate.

Since the start of the outbreak:

8,721 people have died who have tested positive as at 6 October.

11,134 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to 3 October.

31% of COVID-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 62% were in hospitals and 7% were at home or non-institutional settings (as at 3 October).

988 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19; of these, 68 were in intensive care.

in addition, yesterday 13 confirmed COVID-19 patients were in intensive care longer than 28 days.

in the week ending 2 October, 516 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to hospital.

in the week ending 5 October, 46 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to intensive care.

21,676 inpatients who tested positive for COVID-19 have been discharged from hospital since 5 March 2020.

as at 29 September, 1,590 people were delayed in hospital
