58 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

917 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

4,297,028 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination and 3,886,176 have received their second dose.

on 21 October, 32 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive.

in the week ending 17 October, 139 deaths were registered where COVID-19 was on the death certificate.

Since the start of the outbreak:

9,012 people have died who have tested positive as at 21 October

11,406 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to 17 October.

31% of COVID-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 62% were in hospitals and 7% were at home or non-institutional settings (as at 17 October).

917 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19; of these, 58 were in intensive care.

in addition, yesterday 16 confirmed COVID-19 patients were in intensive care longer than 28 days.

22,711 inpatients who tested positive for COVID-19 have been discharged from hospital since 5 March 2020
