Scotland On Tour - Grants For Professional Musicians

23rd October 2021

What does this involve?
Scotland on Tour is a new initiative funded by the Scottish Government and delivered by Active Events to bring new and additional concerts to towns and villages across Scotland in 2022.

Funding is available for artists and for venues/promoters.

Artists can apply for funding that covers touring costs such as vehicle hire, production, crew, accommodation and subsistence. The level of funding available will be between £100 and £3000 for each concert.

Venues and promoters can apply to the fund to cover costs such as venue hire, stewarding and marketing. Venues and promoters are also asked to provide dates so that artists can be matched up with new concerts. The level of funding available will be between £100 and £5000 for each concert.

Festivals can apply for activity such as an additional stage or new venue to add to existing venues. Festivals should contact info@scotlandontour.com to discuss this in more detail.

The deadline to apply is 6pm on Monday 22 November 2021.

Am I eligible?
Artists and promoters must be resident in Scotland and venues must be based in Scotland.

Priority will be given to concerts in rural towns and villages. However, venues in urban locations which do not usually promote concerts are also eligible.

For full eligibility criteria, please visit the Scotland on Tour website.

What does this cost?
This is a grant towards the costs of putting on new concerts in new venues across Scotland. There may be costs associated with this activity not covered by the grant.

Who is this for?
This fund is for professional musicians who have lost earnings as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The fund is not designed for those who practice music as a secondary career.

How long does this take?
The fund opened for applications on Wednesday 20 October 2021.

Applications must be received before 6pm on Monday 22 November 2021.

Successful applicants will be notified by Monday 20 December 2021.

Important information
Applicants will be asked to submit evidence to support their applications. For example, artists will have to demonstrate they have lost earnings due to COVID-19. Venues will need to show that these concerts will be new and not part of an existing schedule of events.

The deadline to apply is 6pm on Monday 22 November 2021.
