58 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19

932 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

4,312,204 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination and 3,900,427 have received their second dose.

*The backlog of NHS Scotland Pillar 1 lab test results that we were unable to report yesterday due to an issue affecting data flow on evening of 26 October 2021, are included in today's newly reported figures.

in the week ending 24 October, 130 deaths were registered where COVID-19 was on the death certificate.

Since the start of the outbreak:

9,119 people have died who have tested positive as at 28 October.

11,538 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to 24 October.

30% of COVID-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 63% were in hospitals and 7% were at home or non-institutional settings (as at 24 October).

932 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19; of these, 58 were in intensive care.

in addition, yesterday 22 confirmed COVID-19 patients were in intensive care longer than 28 days.

in the week ending 24 October, 652 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to hospital.

in the week ending 27 October, 49 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to intensive care.

23,160 inpatients who tested positive for COVID-19 have been discharged from hospital since 5 March 2020.

as at 27 October, 1,539 people were delayed in hospital.
