3,077 new cases of COVID-19 reported.

40,401 new tests for COVID-19 that reported results
8.1% of these were positive

11 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive.

41 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

582 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

4,357,567 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, 3,965,437 have received their second dose, and 1,961,588 have received a third dose or booster.

on 8 December, 11 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive

in the week ending 5 December, 88 deaths were registered where COVID-19 was on the death certificate.

Since the start of the outbreak:

9,672 people have died who have tested positive as at 8 December.

12,216 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to 5 December.

29% of COVID-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 64% were in hospitals and 7% were at home or non-institutional settings (as at 5 December).

582 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19; of these, 41 were in intensive care.

in addition, yesterday 16 confirmed COVID-19 patients were in intensive care longer than 28 days.

in the week ending 4 December, 382 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to hospital.

in the week ending 7 December, 24 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to intensive care.

25,700 inpatients who tested positive for COVID-19 have been discharged from hospital since 5 March 2020.

as at 1 December, 1,452 people were delayed in hospital.
