39 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

578 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

4,358,725 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, 3,967,477 have received their second dose, and 2,000,915 have received a third dose or booster.

*Public Health Scotland are aware that recent processing issues at labs have impacted turnaround times resulting in delays between specimens being taken and results being received and reported. The situation is being monitored.

in the week ending 5 December, 88 deaths were registered where COVID-19 was on the death certificate.

Since the start of the outbreak:

9,688 people have died who have tested positive as at 9 December.

12,216 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to 5 December.

29% of COVID-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 64% were in hospitals and 7% were at home or non-institutional settings (as at 5 December).

578 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19; of these, 39 were in intensive care.

in addition, yesterday 16 confirmed COVID-19 patients were in intensive care longer than 28 days.

in the week ending 5 December, 371 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to hospital.

in the week ending 8 December, 28 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to intensive care.

25,757 inpatients who tested positive for COVID-19 have been discharged from hospital since 5 March 2020.

as at 8 December, 1,453 people were delayed in hospital.
