5,155 new cases of COVID-19 reported.

61,011 new tests for COVID-19 that reported results
9.1% of these were positive.

22 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive.

38 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

544 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

4,364,802 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, 3,981,180 have received their second dose, and 2,254,406 have received a third dose or booster.

on 15 December, 22 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive.

in the week ending 12 December, 84 deaths were registered where COVID-19 was on the death certificate.

Since the start of the outbreak:

9,746* people have died who have tested positive as at 15 December.

12,303 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to 12 December.

29% of COVID-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 64% were in hospitals and 7% were at home or non-institutional settings (as at 12 December).

* Public Health Scotland note that one historic death is not included in the cumulative total due to a data linkage issue. They are working to resolve this.

544 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19; of these, 38 were in intensive care.

in addition, yesterday 16 confirmed COVID-19 patients were in intensive care longer than 28 days.

in the week ending 11 December, 425 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to hospital.

in the week ending 14 December, 24 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to intensive care.

26,059 inpatients who tested positive for COVID-19 have been discharged from hospital since 5 March 2020.

as at 8 December, 1,453 people were delayed in hospital.
