43 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

1,267 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

4,387,192 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, 4,033,635 have received their second dose, and 3,041,961 have received a third dose or booster**.

on 6 January, 18 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive

in the week ending 19 December, 68 deaths were registered where COVID-19 was on the death certificate.

Since the start of the outbreak:

9,890 people have died who have tested positive as at 6 January.

12,372 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to 19 December.

29% of COVID-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 64% were in hospitals and 7% were at home or non-institutional settings (as at 19 December).

1,267 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19; of these, 43 were in intensive care.

in addition, yesterday 14 confirmed COVID-19 patients were in intensive care longer than 28 days.

in the week ending 2 January, 904 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to hospital.

in the week ending 5 January, 50 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to intensive care.

27,713 inpatients who tested positive for COVID-19 have been discharged from hospital since 5 March 2020.

as at 5 January, 1,523 people were delayed in hospital.
