42 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

1,546 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

4,401,034 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, 4,090,242 have received their second.

on 18 January, 31 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive.

in the week ending 9 January, 72 deaths were registered where COVID-19 was on the death certificate (Noting that death registrations for this period are affected by public holidays)

Since the start of the outbreak:

10,093 people have died who have tested positive as at 18 January

12,543 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to 9 January.

29% of COVID-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 64% were in hospitals and 7% were at home or non-institutional settings (as at 9 January)

1,546 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19; of these, 42 were in intensive care.

in addition, yesterday 17 confirmed COVID-19 patients were in intensive care longer than 28 days.

in the week ending 14 January, 960 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to hospital.

in the week ending 17 January, 31 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to intensive care.

29,109 inpatients who tested positive for COVID-19 have been discharged from hospital since 5 March 2020.

as at 12 January, 1,608 people were delayed in hospital.
