6,768 new cases of COVID-19 reported. Please note that as of 13 January 2022, this figure includes cases identified using either a first LFD (lateral flow device) or PCR (polymerase chain reaction) positive test.

30 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive.

16 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19*.

1,458 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19*.

4,405,059 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination, 4,102,038 have received their second dose, and 3,245,885 have received a third dose or booster.

* Note: One health board did not submit data in time for this update; figures from Friday were carried forward for this Board.

on 21 January, 16 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive

in the week ending 16 January, 132 deaths were registered where COVID-19 was on the death certificate .

Since the start of the outbreak:

10,165 people have died who have tested positive as at 21 January.

12,675 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to 16 January.

29% of COVID-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 64% were in hospitals and 7% were at home or non-institutional settings (as at 16 January).

1,511 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19; of these, 43 were in intensive care.

in addition, yesterday 16 confirmed COVID-19 patients were in intensive care longer than 28 days.

in the week ending 17 January, 824 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to hospital.

in the week ending 20 January, 24 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to intensive care

29,518 inpatients who tested positive for COVID-19 have been discharged from hospital since 5 March 2020.

as at 19 January, 1,664 people were delayed in hospital.
