6,329 new cases of COVID-19 reported. Please note that as of 13 January 2022, this figure includes cases identified using either a first LFD (lateral flow device) or PCR (polymerase chain reaction) positive test.

4 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive (noting that Register Offices are now generally closed at weekends).

41 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19*.

1,441 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19*.

4,405,821 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination, 4,105,220 have received their second dose, and 3,252,819 have received a third dose or booster

in the week ending 16 January, 132 deaths were registered where COVID-19 was on the death certificate.

Since the start of the outbreak:

10,165 people have died who have tested positive as at 21 January.

12,675 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to 16 January.

29% of COVID-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 64% were in hospitals and 7% were at home or non-institutional settings (as at 16 January).

in addition, yesterday 16 confirmed COVID-19 patients were in intensive care longer than 28 days.

in the week ending 17 January, 824 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to hospital.

in the week ending 20 January, 24 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to intensive care.

29,518 inpatients who tested positive for COVID-19 have been discharged from hospital since 5 March 2020.

as at 19 January, 1,664 people were delayed in hospital.
