6,934 new cases of COVID-19 reported. Please note that this figure now includes cases identified using either a first LFD (Lateral Flow Device) or PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) positive test.

0 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive (noting that Register Offices are now generally closed at weekends).

38 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

1,435 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

4,406,439 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, 4,108,252 have received their second dose, and 3,258,073 have received a third dose or booster.

on 24 January, 0 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive (noting that Register Offices are now generally closed at weekends).

in the week ending 16 January, 132 deaths were registered where COVID-19 was on the death certificate .

Since the start of the outbreak:

10,198* people have died who have tested positive as at 24 January.

12,675 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to 16 January.

29% of COVID-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 64% were in hospitals and 7% were at home or non-institutional settings (as at 16 January).

29,821 inpatients who tested positive for COVID-19 have been discharged from hospital since 5 March 2020.

as at 19 January, 1,664 people were delayed in hospital.
