8,022 new cases of COVID-19 reported. Please note that this figure now includes cases identified using either a first LFD (Lateral Flow Device) or PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) positive test.

23 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive.

34 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

1,392 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

4,406,999 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, 4,112,264 have received their second dose, and 3,263,981 have received a third dose or booster.

on 25 January, 23 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive.

in the week ending 16 January, 132 deaths were registered where COVID-19 was on the death certificate.

Since the start of the outbreak:

10,222 people have died who have tested positive as at 25 January.

12,675 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to 16 January.

29% of COVID-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 64% were in hospitals and 7% were at home or non-institutional settings (as at 16 January).

1,392 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19; of these, 34 were in intensive care.

in addition, yesterday 15 confirmed COVID-19 patients were in intensive care longer than 28 days.

in the week ending 21 January, 704 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to hospital.

in the week ending 24 January, 23 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to intensive care.

29,945 inpatients who tested positive for COVID-19 have been discharged from hospital since 5 March 2020.

as at 19 January, 1,664 people were delayed in hospital.
