6,679 new cases of COVID-19 reported. Please note that this figure now includes cases identified using either a first LFD (Lateral Flow Device) or PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) positive test.

18 new reported deaths of people who have tested positive.

35 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

1,291 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

4,410,290 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, 4,122,152 have received their second dose, and 3,286,355 have received a third dose or booster.

on 28 January, 16 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive.

in the week ending 23 January, 145 deaths were registered where COVID-19 was on the death certificate.

Since the start of the outbreak:

10,291 people have died who have tested positive as at 28 January.

12,823 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to 23 January.

29% of COVID-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 64% were in hospitals and 7% were at home or non-institutional settings (as at 23 January).

1,302 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19; of these, 32 were in intensive care.

in addition, yesterday 12 confirmed COVID-19 patients were in intensive care longer than 28 days.

in the week ending 24 January, 692 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to hospital.

in the week ending 27 January, 23 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to intensive care.

30,314 inpatients who tested positive for COVID-19 have been discharged from hospital since 5 March 2020.

as at 26 January, 1,645 people were delayed in hospital.
