6,185 new cases of COVID-19 reported. Please note that as of 13 January 2022, this figure includes cases identified using either a first LFD (lateral flow device) or PCR (polymerase chain reaction) positive test.

2 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive (noting that Register Offices are now generally closed at weekends).

32 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

1,217 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

4,410,990 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination, 4,124,546 have received their second dose, and 3,290,965 have received a third dose or booster.

on 28 January, 16 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive.

in the week ending 23 January, 145 deaths were registered where COVID-19 was on the death certificate.

Since the start of the outbreak:

10,291 people have died who have tested positive as at 28 January.

12,823 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to 23 January.

29% of COVID-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 64% were in hospitals and 7% were at home or non-institutional settings (as at 23 January).

1,302 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19; of these, 32 were in intensive care.

in addition, yesterday 12 confirmed COVID-19 patients were in intensive care longer than 28 days.

in the week ending 24 January, 692 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to hospital.

in the week ending 27 January, 23 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to intensive care.

30,314 inpatients who tested positive for COVID-19 have been discharged from hospital since 5 March 2020.

as at 26 January, 1,645 people were delayed in hospital.
