10,710 new cases of COVID-19 reported*.

31 new reported deaths of people who have tested positive.

32 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

1,999 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

4,441,461 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, 4,171,998 have received their second dose, and 3,470,435 have received a third dose or booster.

Note: The vaccinations figures have now been updated, following the earlier delay due to technical issues.

* Please note that case figures reported today (16 March 2022) cover less than a 24 hour period. This is due to a reoccurrence of the technical issue from earlier in the week, meaning data has not been received since 8pm yesterday (15 March 2022).

on 16 March, 31 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive.

in the week ending 13 March, 117 deaths were registered where COVID-19 was on the death certificate.

Since the start of the outbreak:

11,047 people have died who have tested positive as at 16 March.

13,563 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to 13 March.

29% of COVID-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 64% were in hospitals and 7% were at home or non-institutional settings (as at 13 March).

1,999 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19; of these, 32 were in intensive care.

in addition, yesterday 9 confirmed COVID-19 patients were in intensive care longer than 28 days.

in the week ending 12 March, 977 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to hospital.

in the week ending 15 March, 32 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to intensive care.

35,426 inpatients who tested positive for COVID-19 have been discharged from hospital since 5 March 2020.

as at 9 March, 1,623 people were delayed in hospital.
