Ukraine Appeal Fund Art Project By Caithness Artists

It will come as no surprise to everyone that artists wish to contribute to the funds that have been set up to help all those caught up in the Ukraine war. Hence an initiative has been set up which has captured both the imagination of Caithness connected artists and members of the public.

On Sunday 3rd April 2022 at Castlehill Heritage Centre in Castletown the Public have been invited to come along and buy a work of art in the knowledge that 100% of the sales will go towards the Ukraine appeal fund.

The event is open from 1pm until 6pm. Potential buyers will be asked to buy "blind", that is to say all works of art be they paintings or sculptures have been wrapped so as not to give any indication as to what they are or who created them.

This original concept has been a driving force in promoting the occasion as a mystical experience where everyone benefits as unlike raffles where there is only one winner, here everyone who buys "wins".

The only uncertainty is what you have bought but it will be guaranteed as an original work of art. A minimum purchase price is advised at £25.

Already nearly forty artists have agreed to take part with more joining in daily.
