Prehospital Immediate Care And Trauma Team - Highland Heroes Award

The PICT (Prehospital Immediate Care and Trauma Team) picked up the Emergency Services Hero of the Year Award at this year's Highland Heroes Awards.

The awards ceremony, which took place at the Kingsmills Hotel on Thursday 24th March recognised the best of community spirit across the Highlands.

The Emergency Services Hero of the Year award is great recognition of PICT's excellent work since forming in 2016. Team members Dr Catherine Brown and Stuart Abel, Advanced Practitioner in Critical Care collected the award on behalf of the whole team.

The team is made up of hospital specialists and general practitioners providing prehospital care for a range of medical conditions including trauma care.

Katherine Sutton, Chief Officer Acute, NHS Highland said: "We would like to congratulate PICT on their award. It’s a fantastic achievement for the whole team. We look forward to working closely with them as we look at the best ways to deliver emergency services provision across the health board.

"We would also like to congratulate all this year’s Highland Heroes nominees and winners."
