Coronavirus (covid-19): Daily Data For Scotland - 8 April 2022

6,215 new cases of COVID-19 reported.

35 new reported deaths of people who have tested positive.

23 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

2,252 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

4,369,103 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, 4,097,075 have received their second dose, and have 3,457,690 received a third dose or booster.

on 8 April, 35 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive.

in the week ending 3 April, 170 deaths were registered where COVID-19 was on the death certificate.

Since the start of the outbreak:

11,650 people have died who have tested positive as at 8 April.

14,061 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to 3 April.

29% of COVID-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 63% were in hospitals and 7% were at home or non-institutional settings (as at 3 April).

2,252 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19; of these, 23 were in intensive care.

in addition, yesterday 6 confirmed COVID-19 patients were in intensive care longer than 28 days.

in the week ending 4 April, 1,259 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to hospital.

in the week ending 7 April, 34 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to intensive care.

39,339 inpatients who tested positive for COVID-19 have been discharged from hospital since 5 March 2020.

as at 6 April, 1,679 people were delayed in hospital.
