On Friday, the Chancellor will make his first fiscal statement since taking office. New policies are expected to include strategies for economic growth and to provide reassurance to households in the context of the rising cost of living. But what we won't be getting is fresh forecasts from the Office for Budget Responsibility or their scrutiny of the costing of new policy measures. So, what should we look out for?

At this event, funded by the Nuffield Foundation and Citi as part of the 2022 IFS Green Budget, IFS researchers will provide briefings on the public finances and on the potential impacts of some of the tax-cutting measures that are expected to be announced on Friday.

Presentations will include:

The outlook for the public finances
Corporation tax
Personal tax (in particular reversing the rise in NICs)
