"The annual Park Cheviot show and sale saw a south judge enter the gates of the castle. Needing no introduction in the Cheviot world, our judge Mr Keith Stones from the Nuncote Nook flock, Richmond, and we are in great gratitude for him making the long trip north to judge. An increased entry was on the cards, and this ventured into the show ring as no less than 30 rams were placed in front of the judges' eyes. It was clear to see in his placings that length, a good skin, silky hair and a good eye played dominate roles in his placings, which of course are the basic for the females in anyone’s flock. The champion sheep after much deliberation was awarded to regular consigners McCallum, Belmaduthy, with Belmaduthy Caley. This Nesbetmill Andra sired shearling was bought by McNee, Over Finlarg for £750. The reserve champion ticket was presented to a long-standing consigner of this sale Castle of Met Trust Longoe with their 2 shear Durran Xazang son. After being successfully used at home he was offered for sale realising £600 to Mr. MacDonald Grenitote, Uist. Out with the show the top price of the day went to first time consigners W. & J. Brown, Hilton of Culsh. Their the big bodied ram was keenly sought after cashing in at £900 to Isle of Pabbay Farm.
